Our Story

Conceptualized.

HUNT was founded in 2016 by our CEO Trent Sawyer at the University of Pennsylvania as part of a capstone project while earning his masters in education entrepreneurship. The University of Pennsylvania allowed for access to some of the world’s leading researchers and practitioners, expediting our ability to conceptualize, develop, manage, and scale 21st century innovations.

By 2017, Sawyer was ready to bring the HUNT solution to a larger audience of educators, practitioners, investors, and entrepreneurs to seek confirmation that the HUNT approach was logical. HUNT participated in the world’s the most prestigious and well-funded education business plan competition, the Milken - PENN GSE Education Business Plan Competition. At this globally renowned competition, HUNT was recognized as the most transformative & inspirational idea for education and workforce initiatives that year’s competition.

Welcome to HUNT. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to our firm and highlight our perspective on the shortage of skilled labor.

Many organizations across the globe are facing a chronic shortage of the skills they need, and as a result, the challenge of high replacement costs coupled with loss in productivity. With the Baby Boomers retiring and projections that 75% of the workforce will be comprised of millennials by the year 2025, this problem is only going to get worse.  

Most leaders of these organizations are searching for solutions that will prevent an already bad situation from becoming much worse. Despite their best intentions, and in spite of significant investments and efforts in addressing the skills shortage, they fall short. They fail to view the skills shortage as an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage and realize significant incremental revenue by identifying strategic and innovative ways to attract and retain quality candidates from underrepresented talent pools and bring new talent to the market.

During times of change and uncertainty, leaders must embrace the opportunity to be visionaries, seeking out new strategies and innovative solutions. In today’s talent environment, doing the status quo is not a long term solution.
